Yoga at the green shark

With Janine Hochstenbach

Yoga at the green shark

From this year on, we like to introduce Yoga to our customers. We are offering daily morning- and afternoon Yoga Classes for Divers, but also to our Non Diver friends. Yoga is a great way to start your day energised, and is perfect way to rewind after a day of diving or island hopping. We provide classes suitable for all levels, and we have Yoga mats available. We keep our classes intimate, meaning the maximum amount of practitioners is ten. Our In-house Yoga Teacher, Janine Hochstenbach Y200, teaches Vinyasa and Yin Yoga at GreenShark. Yoga Classes are held In-house and Outside at beautiful places near the Atlantic Ocean.

Vinyasa Flow.

Literally translated from Sanskrit, Vinyasa means “connection.” Vinyasa Yoga synchronizes movement with breath which helps the practitioner develop a greater sense of self-awareness, balance, and harmony with themselves and their environment. Vinyasa classes typically include smoothly flowing movements between poses guided by the force of inhales and exhales. Each class is unique, but may include the many variations of Sun Salutations as well as standing postures, inversions, backbends, twists, forward bends, and deep relaxation.

Classes.

Our Yoga Classes are held every evening from 20:30 until 21:30 at GreenShark Dive Center or at a peaceful place outside in La Restinga, very close to the ocean and with a stunning view (depending on weather conditions).

Come to unwind, rejuvenate and enjoy a gentle approach to Vinyasa Yoga. This class focusses on releasing tensions, gently works towards increased flexibility and strength and allows you to experience deep relaxation. It is a perfect way to prepare the body for deep relaxation and a deep, restful sleep and a perfect way to ease your body after a day of diving. This Yoga class is suitable for anyone wanting to practice gentle postures at a slower pace and stay in a posture for a longer time: beginners, advanced yogis, divers, people with restricted movement, pregnant ladies…anyone who is looking for a rejuvenated start of the evening at one of the most tranquil and natural islands in the world is welcome.

Special edition.

Evening Flow at Tacoron (18:00 - 20:00) For this class we meet at GreenShark DiveCenter at 18:00 and we will go by car to Tacoron. Despite its small size, the cove of Tacorón in the south of the island is a veritable gem and deserves to be visited in order to enjoy the most peaceful Atlantic waters in the entire region: not for nothing is this part of the ocean called the Sea of Calm (Mar de las Calmas). It's an unforgettable place, where a palette of ocean blues mixes with volcanic blacks and hues or red and ochre on the hillside of El Julán. A totally unspoilt destination with soft, multi-coloured sands that is perfect for a relaxing afternoon Yoga Class and if you like, a dip in the fresh water afterwards. For this trip we provide homemade snacks (vegetarian, and mainly organic) and fresh juices made from local fruits.
